GPS in your rental car? Here’s how to rent navigation
During your well-deserved vacation, you want to use your rental car to discover the most beautiful spots. The best way to plan your route is, of course, with the help of a GPS! No one wants to get lost on vacation or argue about who misread the map... With a GPS, you avoid hassle and can fully enjoy the drive. Here, we explain the options for renting navigation.
GPS Service
To make your car rental as worry-free and complete as possible, we offer various services, including the GPS service. The advantage of reserving the GPS service is that the navigation system is included in the all-inclusive rental price. You book and pay in advance, and the GPS is guaranteed. This way, everything is arranged before your rental period begins. It’s a great feeling! Renting a GPS at your destination might be more expensive and availability is not guaranteed. Therefore, reserving in advance is worth it.
GPS as an accessory
You can also choose to add a GPS as an accessory to your reservation. You do this during step 2, when filling in your travel details. Here, you can request accessories such as a GPS or a child seat. We value clarity and transparency, so we clearly state the price. This amount is payable on-site when picking up the rental car and is not part of your all-inclusive rental price.
GPS Built into the Rental Car
If you prefer a rental car with a built-in navigation system, you can also reserve this in advance. On our website, you can filter your search for a suitable rental car. This makes your search very easy! If it's possible to rent a car with a built-in GPS at your destination, this option will be available in the filters.
Is the navigation in the rental car available in Dutch ?
A GPS can be set up in various languages, including Dutch in some cases, though we cannot guarantee this. English is always available.
Want to bring your own GPS?
Do you prefer to bring your own GPS in the rental car? That’s also possible. However, keep in mind that there may not always be a USB connection available. This means you won't be able to charge the GPS during your drives. Don’t forget to bring the plug or charger for your navigation system, so you can charge it at your accommodation after a day of driving. Bring a power bank if you want to charge your navigation system on the go and there’s no USB connection in the car.
Using your smartphone for navigation is also an option. Many people use Google Maps, for example. The Google Maps app allows you to select and save an area as an offline map so you can use it without data. Additionally, Sunny Cars' all-inclusive rental always includes 1GB of data for free as an E-Sim. You can find this E-sim in your Sunny2go. This allows you to enjoy extra internet on the go for 7 days, perfect for using the navigation app on your phone and driving directly to the most beautiful spots.
