Valencia Airport, also known as Aeropuerto de Manises, is the eighth busiest airport in Spain. Handling more than 8 million passengers a year and with two terminals, it is a major hub for both domestic and international flights. From here, you can quickly and easily explore the city and surrounding regions with your rental car.
The airport is located about 8 kilometres west of Valencia city centre. Via the V-11 and the E-901/A-3 you can be in the heart of the city within 15 minutes. On the way, get a taste of the modern architecture and vibrant city life Valencia has to offer.
With your rental car, you can easily visit other cities too. Driving south on the AP-7, you will reach Alicante in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. This route offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea. A little further still is Benidorm, known for its beaches and nightlife, about 2 hours' drive from Valencia Airport.
The road network in Spain is modern and well-maintained. Highways are comfortable and clearly signposted. Do pay attention to toll roads and stick to speed limits. In rural areas, roads can be narrow and winding, so be alert.
For urban journeys, a compact car is useful because of the narrow streets and limited parking space. If you plan to drive longer distances or go into the mountains, a sedan or SUV is more comfortable and offers more luggage space.
