Where can I rent a car in the USA?

You can pick up your rental car from any of more than 200 locations in all 50 states. Choose a pick-up location that suits your holiday plans:

  • Airport office: Want to move on in one trip after you land? No problem! Sunny Cars rents from several airports, for example Los Angeles airport, Miami international airport or Las Vegas airport.
  • City office: Of course, if you prefer to go on the road without a car for a few days first, that's possible too. When you're ready to hit the American roads, you can pick up your rental car in Orlando, San Francisco, New York city or one of our other city offices.
  • Address delivery: You can also choose to have your rental car delivered to your hotel with our address delivery. After the rental period, the car will also be picked up from your location. How convenient!

Lower minimum age for car rental in the USA

On average, you have to be 23 years old to drive a rental car in the USA. With some rental cars or car rental providers, the minimum age to drive your rental car is even 25. This is of course unfortunate if you are younger or want to rent a car in the USA with a younger travelling companion. With the young driver service, you can lower the minimum age to 21.

In the USA, all road signs are in English. Green signs indicate destinations, blue ones represent services and brown ones tourist information. It is useful to know that distances and speeds are displayed in miles rather than kilometres.

Can you car rental in America without a credit card?

Definitely! Although a credit card is usually required, you can rent a car rental in the US without a credit card. This can be done in two ways: rent a car rental with cash deposit, or a rental car with the No Deposit service where we guarantee the deposit. What is a choice location?

In America, almost all car rentals are a choice location. This means you get to pick your rental car locally. The rental cars are arranged by category. You can choose any car that falls within your reserved category. Do you prefer a car from a higher category anyway? You can. You will then pay the additional cost of your more expensive rental car at the exit booth. And then... Hit the road and enjoy.

From what age are you allowed to car rental in America?

In America, you must be 23 years old on average to drive a rental car. In some rental car categories or car rental companies, the minimum age is even 25. With our young driver service, it is possible to lower the minimum age to 21 years, at an additional cost. Always check the specific conditions to be sure.

What do you need to car rental in America?

Can I add a second driver to my car rental in the US?

A second driver is not included as standard with our all-inclusive car hire package. You can add a second driver to your car hire by:

  • Renting a car rental with the extra driver service
  • Adding the additional driver as an extra during rental car pick-up. There will be an additional charge for this locally.
